PGE Boardman Power Plant Returned to Operating Condition
PORTLAND, Ore., Jul 05, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Portland General Electric Company (NYSE:POR) today announced that repairs to its coal-fired Boardman Power Plant have been completed, and the plant is fully operational. The Boardman plant had been out of service since early June for repairs to its low pressure turbine unit. Portland General Electric (PGE) has a 65 percent ownership share of the 585 MW power plant.
"Our Boardman staff was able to complete repairs within the timeframe anticipated when we announced the outage," said Jim Lobdell, PGE vice president for power operations and resource strategy. "Increased hydroelectric generation from this spring's strong stream flows helped reduce incremental replacement power costs, which we estimate to be approximately three to four million dollars."
